Meet Dr. Amanda Tulk
I had always wanted to work in the health field, but wasn't sure which avenue I would pursue.
I was first introduced to chiropractic as a teenager. My best friend was in a very bad car accident. The car was a write-off, and my friend was very badly injured. Basically she would hardly walk on her own, let alone drive a car. So, I dove her to her chiropractor appointments. Her chiropractor was great! He explained everything that was going on with her spine and nerve system, and made sure we understood her treatment plan in advance. It definitely took some time, but she responded well to her adjustments and eventually made a full recovery. You wouldn't know to look at her now, that she was once so incapacitated.
I couldn't believe what I had experienced! I was amazed, and very grateful to this chiropractor.
Meet Dr. Aaron Todd
As a collegiate football and rugby player, it is no secret that I owe my health to chiropractic.
In order to be able to compete at such an elite level in Canada and the United States, I needed to be injury-free. I received my first adjustment after a neck injury during a football game. The hit was so severe that I worried about finishing up the rest of the season. However, after a few adjustments from our team chiropractor, I was cleared up and ready to play the following weekend.
From that moment forward, I realized the importance of not only seeing a chiropractor after an injury, but also following through with a schedule of care to maintain the integrity of my spine and nerve system to be able to attain my peak performance. It was after this incident that I began to read and study as much as I could about chiropractic and sports.
Meet our Massage Therapist, Mandie McLeary
I started practicing massage 7 years ago in Kamloops, B.C., my province of birth, and up until 4 years ago, my home. I was initially practicing a form of intuitive massage before I completed my education in clinical, treatment-based massage therapy. I moved to Alberta in 2006 and completed my education at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Calgary. I moved to Cochrane in the spring of 2010, and I am proud to make this amazing community my new home.
Meet our Massage Therapist, Katherina Herman
Growing up on Vancouver Island was a wonderful experience, however, upon my first visit to Alberta's Rockey Mountains I had no doubt in my mind that this was where I wanted to live. I first moved to Northern Alberta... Think really north, Fort McMurray, where I completed my first year with the Alberta Massage Training Program. I spent some time working with a Taek Won Do club and gained experience in a spa setting. By 2010, I finally convinced my better half to move to Southern Alberta where I continued to build upon my clinic experience.
I have been an avid rider for the majority of my life and have been involved in the equine industry in a number of ways. I have a real passion in helping better the horse and rider team. By addressing imbalances in the rider we can often help correct issues and help improve performance in our horses as well.
In spring 2011 I had the chance to join the exceptional West Valley team where I mostly practise deep tissue and Swedish relaxation massage. I look forward in continuing to meet the Cochrane community and assisting its residents in achieving their health goals.
